Who is eligible to participate?
The Empire State Winter Games are designed for athletes of all ages and abilities. Each sport has its own qualification requirements, which may include age, level, and/or residency. Please visit your sports page for more information!
When will the 2024 ESWG be held?
The 2024 Empire State Winter Games will be held February 1-4, 2024, with the Opening Ceremony happening on the night of February 1.
Where can athletes pick up their athlete jacket?
Athlete jackets are first-come-first-serve and can be picked up during athlete check-in. Athlete check-in will be at the Conference Center at Lake Placid during the following times:
- Wednesday, February 1, 4pm – 6pm
- Thursday, February 2, 10am – 6pm
- Friday, February 3, 10am – 6pm
- Saturday, February 4, 10am – 2pm
What is the refund policy?
In the case of a medical emergency, depending on the circumstances, a refund MAY be considered. Any refund requests must be made in writing and sent to: Kim Beach, ESWG, P.O. Box 1470, Lake Placid, NY 12946
Where will events be held?
Events will be held in various locations in the Adirondacks, NY. Competition venues include Olympic Center, James C. Sheffield Speed Skating Rink, Whiteface Mountain, Mt. Van Hoevenberg, Olympic Jumping Complex, Tupper Lake Civic Center, Saranac Lake Civic Center, Dewey Mountain, Mt. Pisgah, Cascade Cross Country Ski Center, Scotts Cobble Nordic Center, and Paul Smith’s College.
Do I have to purchase a ticket to spectate an event?
All events of the Empire State Winter Games are free to watch and do not require tickets specifically for the event. A Spectator’s Guide will be released a month before the Games.
