Empire State Winter Games Opening Ceremony Theme, “Chasing Dreams on Snow & Ice: The 2025 Empire State Winter Games.”
(January 23, 2025) — More than 2,500 athletes from New York State and beyond return to Lake Placid, N.Y. and the North Country region to participate in the 45th Empire State Winter Games, which begin Thursday, Jan. 30, and continue through Sunday, Feb. 2, 2025.
The Games officially kick off Thursday evening, Jan 30, with the Opening Ceremony, themed “Chasing Dreams on Snow & Ice: The 2025 Empire State Winter Games.” The event, which is free and open to the public, aims to celebrate the inspirational journey of all the athletes who have competed in the 44-year-old history of the Games
